NO PLACE FOR MANNEQUINS: REMAKING THE FASHION ARCHIVE

No Place for Mannequins brings together local and international artists and designers who unsettle the fashion archive’s authority and reimagine its foundations. Curated by Dr Todd Robinson and Dr Ricarda Bigolin, the exhibition foregrounds critical fashion practices that are reshaping what counts within and beyond the fashion archive.

ALL WORK IS WOMEN’S WORK - LAUNCH AT SAN SERIFFE AMSTERDAM

Launch of the All Work Is Women’s Work project at Amsterdam’s San Serriffe bookshop. Moderator Emma van Meyeren led a conversation with the project’s initiator and writer, Hanka van der Voet, and graphic designer Beau Bertens. The event featured a small exhibition of the XEROXED garments developed for the collaboration.

XEROXED X LIBRARY OF UNRULY FASHION PRACTICES

We collaborated with Library of Unruly Fashion Practices, project founded by publisher and researcher Hanka van der Voet. We created a series of wearables starting from a selection of archival material belonging to The Seamstresses’ Union, one of the first all-female labour unions in the Netherlands. These wearables were launched together with a paper publication designed by Beau Bertens.

Indie brands + artists temporary market at Villa Filanda Antonini, an independent space dedicated to experimentation with the languages of contemporary art.
TO WEAR IS TO MAKE PUBLIC

Can a garment become a publishing medium? What does it mean to make something public through the body?
These are the questions explored in this lecture, held as part of the Critical Design course led by Noemi Biasetton at UNIRSM Design in San Marino.
TALKING OBJECTS

Talking Objects is a workshop developed in collaboration with curator and researcher Saul Marcadent that took place in November 2025 in NABA. The dialogue with XEROXED shaped the workshop’s direction, focusing both on generating new material from what already exists and on imagining new approaches to curate, narrate, and display printed matter.
THE NEW FASHION NARRATIVES - COLLECTIVE MOVEMENTS

Collective Movements is a fashion exhibition that took place at Bureau Europa in Maastricht, within the FashionClash Festival Public program. The exhibition brings together collectives, grassroot initiatives, and designers working with communities to explore fashion as a tool for connection and resistance.
PRINTED GARMENTS AS WEARABLE MEDIA

Lecture on garment publishing, hybrid mediums, and underground printed matter by Alia Mascia (XEROXED Founder) at the Interactive Media Design Department of the Royal Academy of Den Hague.
NON DOMINANT NARRATIVES

Seminar on Critical Fashion Research. Presented by Alia Mascia (XEROXED Founder), together with Alessandra Varisco, as part of the Critical Fashion course led by Clizia Moradei within the MA Fashion Ecologies program at Iuav University of Venice.
SELF DEFENSE T-SHIRTS WORKSHOP AT MOTELSALIERI

The workshop activates the Self-Defense Archive, a collection of women’s self-defense manuals reinterpreted through transfeminist, decolonial, and intersectional perspectives. Participants reworked selected contents from the archive, transforming them into wearable objects using DIY fabric printing.

Mode and Mode 9 Advertise with Us is a material exploration of the concept and politics of ‘advertising; in the form of an issue made up entirely of ads by small press, critical fashion titles past and present.

Presentation of XEROXED design research on wearable publications, publishing, and printmaking at the Musée d'art et d'histoire in Geneva within the ICOM Costume Committee Annual Meeting.
DIALOGICAL BODIES: EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY AS MATERIAL

Installation and talk at The Swedish School of Textiles. The installation showcased the outcome of XEROXED Edition 001 Against Boredom: Delirious is beautiful in collaboration with the Primo Moroni Archive, displayed together with a selection of archival material.
PRINTED OBJECTS. TACTILITY IN FASHION PUBLISHING PROJECTS

Presented by Alia Mascia (XEROXED Founder), together with Alessandra Varisco and Edoardo Ferrari, as part of the Publishing course led by Saul Marcadent. The seminar explored research at the intersection of publishing and fashion.
XEROXED X CHICKS ON SPEED

We had the pleasure of collaborating with Chicks on Speed, working with their band archive (lyrics, articles, paper ephemera, and more), and designing prints that were later transformed into pamphlet T-shirts distributed during the 2023 tour, as well as fabrics for stage costumes.
UNGLOSSING FASHION: TOWARDS ALTERNATIVE NARRATIVES

Group Exhibition at Museum Arnhem, The Netherlands. The nine projects in Unglossing Fashion: Towards Alternative Narratives share the fundamental intention to uncover hidden narratives and untold stories that lie buried beneath the dominant fashion system.
QUEER PANDÈMIA AT BASE MILANO

Queer Pandèmia sets out to tell the stories of practices that may appear unfamiliar or unsettling, through which LGBTQIA+ subjectivities claim space for representation within society. The curatorial intent is driven by the reappropriation of those narratives that are commonly used to label those seen as “different.”
PAPER AFORE PRESS

Paper Afore Press is the International Fashion Library second exhibition in collaboration with the National Museum of Norway textile department & conservators. A plea for paper to be re-evaluated and re-though in its essence, this exhibition aims to propose to the visitor an alternative perspective on the medium that paper is for the fashion system.
THE CHAIN GARMENT: GARMENTS AS SPACES FOR COEXISTENCE

Interview and editorial contribution. The project, edited by Alice Alloggio, seeks to originate conversations and connections through the act of wearing. Here garments have the potential to function as extensions aimed at providing creatives with spaces to evoke a sense of belonging that is vital for shaping and strengthening their networks.

The XEROXED geek trousers were conceived and made exclusively for the fourth issue of Dune and are the product of an intervention of cutting up and patchwork carried out on a reprint on fabric of the first issue of Fikafutura: secrezioni acide cyberfemministe e queer (1997) published by Shake Edizioni Underground.
