VOL. 2 IL LOGO DI DIO WAISTCOAT

The paper waistcoat was developed starting from an article retrieved from a special edition of Decoder Rivista Internazionale Underground, published in 1992 and edited by Shake Edizioni. The text has been re-elaborated and combined with other images, letterings, and symbols extracted from the XEROXED archive, and then printed in silkscreen on cardboard and fabric. The waistcoat was developed for the durational performance You Can't Brek The Resistance, conceived with performer Antti Uimonen in January 2022 in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Following the performance, the waistcoat was exhibited at Paper Afore Press, an exhibition at the International Library of Fashion Research in Oslo, Norway.

Paper Afore Press is the International Library of Fashion Research second exhibition in collaboration with the Nasjonal Museet textile department & conservators.

This exhibition is a nod to a medium, the one of paper, that long has been taken for granted. A plea for paper to be re-evaluated and re-though in its essence, this exhibition aims to propose to the visitor an alternative perspective on the medium that paper is for the fashion system. A possibility of communication and distribution; an asset and alternative in the vast realm of textile production, fabrication and consumption; a vessel for words that would instead be forgotten and unheard; a way of connecting people.
